Journal Entry Two - How To Earn Money

As I was skimming through some jouranl prompt ideas on the internet i came across one that I thought I could probably write about. The prompt was "What are things people your age could do to earn money?" As I was thinking of jobs that young people could do I couldn't help but to think of babysitting. If all else fails you can always be a cheap babysitter. As long as your not a criminal and your a pretty trustworthy person people will usually let you watch their kids. It may not be a tax paying job or always that reliable but it will always give you a couple extra bucks to spend. If I didn't have my job now I would be babysitting my niece and nephew everyday. Thinking of that made me thankful for my employer. Some other ideas that I managed to write down were yard work and house cleaning. Although yard work probably wouldn't pay as good as cleaning a big house it would still be a way to earn money. It seems as if people these days don't value earning a living the honest way like my grandparents did. I myself and guilty of this. Sometimes when I do a favor for someone I may over charge just a little bit. There are still some good old fashioned ways to make money that I wouldn't even think about doing. For instance, you could set up a lemonade stand or sell some of your things at a garage sale. I personally am not intersted in doing either of these things but if it were a last resort I could stand out in the heat and yell "LEMONADE FOR SALE! TEN CENTS A CUP!" If your interested in some of my ideas feel free to use them anytime but as for me, I'm keeping my job!
